Short Public Version of the Statute
The World Association of PMU Artists (WAPMUA) is an international professional association operating in the field of PMU (Permanent Makeup) and related professional activities.
WAPMUA functions as a centralized international professional system established for the development, standardization, recognition, accreditation, regulation, and professional advancement of the PMU industry within the WAPMUA framework.
The Association may operate internationally, directly or through officially authorized, licensed, recognized, approved, or otherwise accepted organizers, partners, educational entities, experts, and representatives.
The official working language of WAPMUA is English. Translations of the Statute and other official WAPMUA documents may be issued for practical or regional use. In the event of any discrepancy or conflict of interpretation, the English version shall prevail.
WAPMUA acts in accordance with its Statute, internal regulations, codes, standards, rules, policies, official decisions, and other instruments adopted under its authority.
WAPMUA is an international professional association established as an institutional framework for the PMU industry.
It is not limited to event activity and shall be understood as a professional association dedicated to:
defining and supporting professional standards;
developing systems of recognition and status;
promoting quality, competence, and ethics in the profession;
establishing structured frameworks for membership, accreditation, licensing, educational standards, and professional evaluation.
Within the limits of its own authority and system, WAPMUA may unite and regulate professionals, judges, educational entities, academies, training centers, organizers, partners, and other recognized persons and entities.
WAPMUA constitutes the official source of authority, recognition, regulation, standards, statuses, and approvals within the WAPMUA system and under the WAPMUA brand.
The mission of WAPMUA is to support and advance the PMU industry as a professional field through the establishment and protection of standards, competence, ethics, structured recognition, and professional development.
The core purpose of WAPMUA includes:
development of PMU as a recognized professional sphere;
formation and support of professional standards and quality benchmarks;
standardization of educational and professional preparation;
creation of systems of membership, recognition, accreditation, and licensed professional participation;
promotion of ethical and competent practice;
support of professional evaluation, comparative assessment, and distinction through approved instruments of the Association.
Championships, judging systems, summits, forums, educational initiatives, accreditations, and recognitions are instruments used by WAPMUA to fulfill its mission. They do not define the full nature of the Association and shall be treated as elements of its broader institutional and professional framework.
WAPMUA has the authority to establish, define, interpret, update, apply, and enforce professional standards within the PMU industry under its system.
The Association may define:
competency requirements;
professional quality criteria;
practical and ethical performance expectations;
standards of professional conduct;
professional benchmarks relevant to recognition, approval, accreditation, licensing, or official status.
WAPMUA also develops and maintains standards for professional education and preparation in PMU, including:
initial training;
advanced training;
retraining and professional conversion;
continuing professional development;
specialized PMU methodologies and technical areas.
The Association may approve, recognize, accredit, license, endorse, restrict, suspend, or reject educational entities, academies, training centers, programs, curricula, standards, and methodologies according to its own requirements and internal regulations.
WAPMUA may establish systems of professional recognition, distinction, validation, and official standing within its framework and may assign, confirm, suspend, review, or revoke such statuses and recognitions.
All official recognitions, statuses, distinctions, and forms of professional standing shall exist only within the scope of the WAPMUA system unless otherwise expressly stated by WAPMUA.
WAPMUA may establish structured systems and categories of membership for qualified persons and entities aligned with its mission, standards, and official rules.
Membership may be granted to:
individual professionals;
legal entities;
academies and training centers;
organizers and professional partners;
other persons or entities deemed eligible by WAPMUA.
Membership in WAPMUA is not automatic and shall be granted only upon approval under WAPMUA criteria. Satisfaction of preliminary or general criteria does not create an automatic right to membership, renewal, status confirmation, or continued participation.
WAPMUA may establish systems of accreditation, licensing, official approval, recognition, and regulated authorization. No accreditation, license, or equivalent official permission shall be valid unless expressly granted or confirmed by WAPMUA.
WAPMUA operates under a centralized governance model.
The principal governance structure of WAPMUA consists of:
the President;
the Central Administration / Executive Office.
The President serves as the highest final internal authority of WAPMUA. Final authority within the WAPMUA system remains centralized and includes the power to approve, reject, confirm, suspend, review, revise, or revoke official statuses, recognitions, memberships, accreditations, licenses, and authorizations.
WAPMUA may appoint or authorize national organizers and licensed partners to operate within a specific territory or defined scope. Such entities act only within the powers expressly granted to them and are not autonomous governing authorities of WAPMUA.
All members, judges, participants, organizers, partners, accredited bodies, licensed entities, educational entities, and other recognized persons or structures operating within the WAPMUA framework are required to comply with this Statute and all official WAPMUA regulations, codes, rules, standards, policies, directives, and decisions.
WAPMUA may organize, sanction, supervise, validate, or recognize professional championships within its framework.
Championships constitute one of the official instruments of professional evaluation, comparison, distinction, and recognition within the WAPMUA system. Categories, levels, procedures, timelines, participation rules, and other championship conditions are governed by separate championship regulations.
WAPMUA establishes, supervises, and controls the judging system within its framework. Judging statuses, levels, and forms of official judging recognition are granted, confirmed, suspended, or revoked by WAPMUA.
Judging within the WAPMUA system is based on:
professional competence;
independence;
ethics;
impartiality;
absence of conflict of interest;
compliance with approved criteria and regulations.
WAPMUA may establish and enforce ethical and disciplinary standards applicable to all persons and entities operating within its system and may apply warnings, suspensions, exclusions, revocations, result reviews, and other disciplinary or corrective measures where necessary.
The name World Association of PMU Artists, the abbreviation WAPMUA, the logo, visual identity, certificates, titles, distinctions, systems, regulations, methodologies, official documents, records, and other elements of the WAPMUA framework are controlled assets of WAPMUA.
Such assets may be used only with authorization from WAPMUA and only within the scope expressly permitted.
No person or entity may represent itself as an official representative, official branch, official authority, or official component of WAPMUA without valid authorization.
Upon termination, suspension, revocation, expiration, or withdrawal of status, accreditation, license, partnership, or recognition, the right to use the corresponding WAPMUA branding, representation, titles, and references shall cease immediately unless expressly authorized otherwise.
This Statute constitutes the principal governing document of the World Association of PMU Artists (WAPMUA).
WAPMUA may amend, revise, supplement, update, and interpret this Statute in accordance with its centralized authority and internal governance system.
All subordinate regulations, codes, standards, rules, policies, methodologies, and official decisions adopted under WAPMUA authority derive their force from this Statute and are binding within the WAPMUA framework.

Your activity must be related to permanent make-up and be officially registered in accordance with the legislation of your country.
You must have experience of participating and winning prizes in permanent make- up championships held at national or international level in the last three years.
You must have at least one year of experience in permanent make-up training and a minimum of ten students who have successfully completed your courses.
You must have a minimum of one media mention of your professional activities or achievements in permanent make-up.
At least one of your students must have won a national or international permanent make-up championship in the last three years.
